Bill Dowling, a naturalist whose family has been in the area since frst settlement will describe a personal history of riparian and river works on his property. This will be followed by an explanation of the River Styles framework by Peter Ainsworth the Riverworks Program project offcer from Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority. The River Styles framework has been developed by Macquarie University (with funding from Land & Water Australia) to provide a baseline geomorphic assessment of river character, behaviour and condition, and is now used by the CMA to assess management strategies.
