Here’s a theory for you…

nuclear.jpgThere are two gas pipelines planned that will meet at Hexham (one from Gloucester coal fields and one from Qld). NSW needs a new base load power station. Last year a planned gas-fired plant at Singleton was shelved due to lack of water security because the Hunter River is fully allocated. Tillegra Dam will allow all that water that is not needed for Newcastle to be used for a power station. The Lower Hunter is also one of 20 candidate sites identified in the nuclear energy feasibility report set up by the Howard Gov’t. First, they’ll build a gas plant and then they’ll build a nuclear one…somewhere in the Hexham/Kooragang area? Tillegra will provide sufficient water.
