Info Booth at Tillegra Bridge

Jan 20th, 2008 by admin | 0

NTDG will be holding another information booth at the Tillegra Bridge on the Australia Day Long Weekend, January 26, 27 and 28. The booth will give the public the chance to find out about the effects the dam will have on the local community, and the wider region due to river flow changes, the effects on the ecology of the river and surrounding areas and the political debate behind the proposal and the lack of consultation with the local community in the process. The proposed site for Tillegra Dam is located approximately 230km north of Sydney on the Upper Williams River in the Dungog Shire Council. The estimated cost of the dam’s construction is approximately $300 million however due to geological instabilities in the area this cost is set to rise considerably.
