Lead author Dr Richard Kingsford from the University of New South Wales has told the ABC’s AM programme (29/7/09) that “Land clearing, logging, building dams, diverting water out of rivers, bottom trawling in marine areas, over-exploitation of our fisheries are having huge impacts. These are the major impacts. So basically we need some policies that encourage sustainable industries.”
