Dam Folly Continues…

Feb 28th, 2008 by admin | 0

I have just learnt that the Department of Commerce (formally the Dept.of Public Works) is in charge of the construction supervision of the proposed Tillegra Dam.This Department is the same one which oversaw the construction of the Bathurst Hospital and the fiasco that turned out to be.

Are they going to look for the problems associated with the building of a dam on the Williams River or are they going to wait for approval from the Government and then find the faults associated with building a dam on such a dangerous site. Then, will it be like every other Government contract and go over budget and the tax payers of New South Wales and the water users mostly in the Hunter will have to pay for their mistakes.
All of Dungog had better prepare themselves by buying a canoe or a boat while you Mr Williamson can sit on your verandah and say “What a waste.”

Another Government fiasco awaiting to happen.
